LASH EXTENSIONS GUIDELINES
WHAT ARE LASH EXTENSIONS?
Here at Scratch Divas, we specialize in 'Natural Look' Eyelash extensions. We aim to promote natural looking lash extensions as we believe even though 'lash extensions are fake!' We still want you to walk out the salon feeling like the lashes are your own!
Most people have a misconception of what 'lash extensions' are suppose to look like. The stereotypical look would be 'DRAMATIC' look. This is okay if you are wanting to go for this look. However at Scratch Divas, we don't do DRAMATIC i'm afraid. We focus on making your natural lashes look fuller, and thicker but keeping your lashes looking natural and healthy. If you wanted Dramatic looking lashes then we are probably not the salon for you.
We have various different types of lashes to suit the individual. However a 10 minute consultation is done on the day to make sure you get the right lashes for you.
We specialize in Mink, Cashmere, Russian lashes. Each individual are suited to different types of lashes and different sizes. Size of lashes depends on your facial features, and if you have sufficient natural lashes to be able to create a look that suits you.
There are three types of lashes synthetic, silk and mink. Size availability ranges from 6mm to 17mm. Once selected, the lashes are applied one at a time using a specially formulated, semi-permanent glue that will not irritate the eye nor damage the natural lash. However, since allergic reactions are possible, there are different types of glue based on one’s sensitivity.
** A GLUE TEST IS REQUIRED PRIOR TO TREATMENT **
Everyone has different lashes, and depending on the condition of your own natural lashes, lash experts can only go a certain length or thickness. (This is to ensure that your own lashes remain healthy.) For example, if your natural lashes are on the shorter, thinner side, it isn't recommended that you have lash extensions but treat your own lashes first with a lash serum.
What if my lashes are fine?
Lash extensions last through a full growth cycle of natural eyelashes, typically six to eight weeks. That said, because each person’s lash growth is somewhat variable (just hair growth), I suggest light lash maintenance every three to four weeks to maintain a full look.
Since each lash extension is attached to a single eyelash, they will fall out naturally along with the natural growth cycle of each lash. We recommend a touch-up every three to four weeks.
When Do I Need Infills?
** IT'S IMPORTANT TO LOOK AFTER YOUR LASHES **
Keep water away from your lashes for the first 12 to 24 hours after application or touch-ups. Water can weaken the adhesive before it is set and cause lashes to fall off. The after-care varies depending on the glue used. For instance, with glue for sensitive eyes, oil-based products or makeup removers around the eye area are not recommended. Using water-proof mascara on the extensions is not recommended for any type of glue, as it is hard to remove and can actually pull off the lashes prematurely when trying to take it off.
** PLEASE NOTE: SENSITIVE GLUE IS USED FOR ALL LASH TREATMENTS **

If your own lashes are fine, or you have little to no lashes then unfortunately we don't recommend that you have lash extensions. The bottom line is, the lashes wont last.
Lash extensions are fine individual lashes that are applied to your natural lashes. If you have gaps, and your lashes are fine to super fine then we wont perform the treatment. To apply lash extensions to fine lashes will cause strain to your lashes because your own lashes are not strong enough so unfortunately they will fall out.
We suggest that you look into treating your own lashes with a lash serum that you can purchase online or at the high street, which will nourish and stimulate lash growth.
