What is a patch test?
A patch test is a preventive procedure that should be carried out before having false lashes or applying lashes at home. When trying a new product such as an eyelash adhesive, is it hugely important that a patch test is carried out before you go on to fully use the product. Carrying out a patch test helps prevent a reaction to the product’s formula as it allows you to see how it suits your skin on a smaller area, before you apply it to somewhere as sensitive as your eye lids.
** YOUR TREATMENT WILL NOT BE CARRIED OUT, WITHOUT A 'CONSULTATION & ALLERGY TEST **
Important Note: No patch testing can guarantee fully against any sort of allergies as they can develop at any time, even after years of exposure doing eyelash extensions. However by limiting our client’s exposure to allergies we strictly advise doing the correct patch testing on every client if they have not had lashes before.
CONSULTATION & GLUE ALLERGY PATCH TEST
The consultation is the best way to discuss with the client on their requirements of how they want their lashes to look.
During the consultation, we discuss the different type of lashes, length, curl and the look you want, taking into account your face shape, hair and features. Once the consultation has been completed, a GLUE PATCH TEST is carried out.
A small drop of glue (sensitive glue) is applied onto your skin behind your ear. You MUST leave this on for 24 hours.
Any indication of a reaction, please contact your lash technician. Or for immediate medical attention please go to A&E.
*£10 is deducted from the treatment price, when booked*
